The definition of trekking, according to the dictionary, is to embark on a lengthy and difficult journey, usually on foot. It may sound intimidating, but don't we adore it? Hike, tramp, march, trek, trudge, or just walk is what we do. Sometimes it's to learn something new or simply to get away from the daily grind. For the most part, it works like magic.
After all, it's only a stroll through the woods. There are many different types of walks: short, delightful strolls; strenuous treks; nature walks to see flora and fauna; hikes to reach a peak or fort; photo opportunities, fishing trips, and camping excursions. Everyone can find a walk that is right for them. Your motivation for travelling defines your destination and how you prepare to get there.
Here are some fundamentals that will make your outdoor experience more joyful and gratifying. It's not a comprehensive list, but it's a good place to start.
Note: To start any outdoor activities condition your body.
1. Start going for walks
2. Do exersice, strenght training
3. Have a control on your breadth.
Fundamentals to Start Trekking
Begin by determining how much time you want to spend outside. Perhaps you should begin by going out for a day and strolling through fields and forests, up to a hill fort or ancient rock-cut caverns. If you're a physically active person, you could be willing to spend a week or perhaps two on a simple hike or even something more hard and isolated. The length of your adventure will determine what kind of gear and how much of it you'll need.
2. Become acquainted with the trail.
Consider your current level of fitness and familiarity with the outdoors when planning a walking vacation. While anyone with the correct mindset and perseverance may workout and get in shape, you must first examine your own abilities. You can then select how much of a challenge/difficulty you're willing to take on based on this information. Keep in mind that if you decide to embark on a long walk, there will be little or no transportation available to get you back to civilization along the route. So be honest with yourself and each member of your group, and make good decisions. After you've decided on a trail, get a map of the area and look over reports and data. There are a number of fantastic internet resources. Determine whether the trail is a loop or if you'll need to return or locate a second vehicle. Make a mental note of any connecting trails where you might make a mistake. I also enjoy looking for a nice lunch site, such as a lake or a vantage point.
3.Check the weather forecast.
Check the weather in the days leading up to your hike, and again a few hours before. This will provide you with helpful advice on how to dress and what to bring. If bad weather is expected, you'll have the opportunity to modify your plans rather than being caught off guard on the route.
4. Pack the Essentials
5. Put on a successful outfit.
A hike might be ruined by painful feet. Purchase high-quality hiking boots and socks. This does not necessarily imply thick leather boots; there are many "light hikers" on the market that take little break-in time as compared to the old hiking boots I started with. Also, don't scrimp on socks, and avoid cotton at all costs! Socks made of wool or synthetic materials are recommended. Blister dressings should also be brought along just in case.
After you've taken care of your feet, you'll want to make sure you're dressed appropriately for your hike. Anything made of cotton should be avoided since it becomes damp and stays damp, making you feel clammy and causing chafing. Rather, opt for synthetics. Wear layers that you may add or remove as needed to simply adjust for your temperature and the weather. Finally, bring an extra warm garment, preferably one that blocks wind, in addition to what you believe you'll need.
6.Select a Trekking Company
Choosing the appropriate adventure company can make a huge difference in the quality of your trip. This could be a professional company or a knowledgeable local guide who can arrange for equipment, porters or mules, food, and medical supplies, among other things.
• Look for someone who is familiar with the area and has organised hikes there before. This is critical since weather in the mountains is unpredictable, and you'll need a guide who understands the area, can identify changes in the weather, and can direct you to a safe location. And Marcopolo Adventures are certified in it.
• Inquire about the type of food carried on treks by the operator. Depending on the operator and what they charge, the food can be simple and local, with parathas and dal-rice, or more complex. If you have any particular requests or allergies, inquire if the operator can accommodate them.
• Find out if their employees have received first-aid training and what medical services they provide.
• Go online to see what kind of feedback they've gotten in the past from customers. You can also inquire about former clients.
• Check with your tour operator to see if they hire locals. It's usually a good idea to support the local economy by hiring local guides and porters.
• Find out if the tour operator is a member of any organisation or group of operators that sets safety and quality standards and has a grievance procedure.
7. Leave no sign of your presence.
Our favourite paths will only remain beautiful if we take care of them. Take the time to read and observe the Leave No Trace - Seven Principles. It is the responsibility of every outdoor enthusiast to protect our natural areas.
I hope you will take advantage of these suggestions and go hiking this season. What route will you take? Please leave a comment with your suggestions; I'd love to hear them!
